   Orders were accepted in one tool and picked in another. By afternoon the lists had drifted. The engagement was a single connection with a named source of truth, not a warehouse platform. A person is notified only when a line does not match.

   The first argument was which list was allowed to win. Until that was written down, connecting the tools would have made the drift faster. The field contract is part of the result: what moves, and what does not.

   A week of watching the first live runs sits inside the fixed block. Ongoing field changes would be integration care, which was not part of this story. It can be added later as its own month.
